How early should I come to get tickets?
The festival is able to accommodate a large number of patrons. However, since tickets to the Projecting Hope Film Festival are free and distributed on a first come, first served basis, some films may run out of tickets at some point during the day. When that happens, patrons can get tickets for any other film playing that still has seating available.
As a general rule, the earlier you come to the box office, the better chance you have of getting tickets to the shows you are most interested in seeing. That does not mean that you won't get tickets right at the start of the movie, but your chances decrease as showtime approaches.
If you want to guarantee your tickets, you can order them in advance for a fee of $5/ticket.
Help! The movie starts soon -- will tickets be available when I get there?
Again, the festival is able to accommodate a large number of total patrons. However, some showings are in greater demand than others, and tickets may run out at some point during the day. The earlier you come to the box office, the better the selection of shows available. If you think your film is one that lots of patrons may want to see, consider coming early and picking up your tickets, or ordering advance tickets ($5 / ticket).
Why do you charge $5 for advance tickets?
Unfortunately, when tickets are offered in advance at no charge, patrons have a tendency to order more than they need. Shows run out of tickets very quickly, but many of the tickets are not redeemed--leaving half full theaters. The $5 fee helps to insure that patrons really intend to attend, and it also helps to cover the cost of processing the online tickets. Purchasing advance tickets is a great way to guarantee your seat and help to support the festival at the same time.
Of course, same day tickets remain free at the box office on the day of the showing while supplies last.
Who should order advance tickets?
Reasons for ordering advance tickets:
- You are traveling a long distance and are concerned tickets may run out.
- There is a movie that you absolutely have to see, and you don't want to chance missing it.
- You are bringing a group to the festival and want to make sure your entire party can get tickets.
I bought advance tickets. Will I get a good seat?
Advance tickets guarantee a seat at the film, but not a particular location. Even if you ordered advance tickets, you may still want to get to the theater early to have a good selection of seating.
How many tickets are available for advance ordering?
Only a limited number of tickets are available for advance ordering. The vast majority of tickets for each show will be available for free at the box office on the day of the showing.
Can I get tickets for future days showings at the box office?
No. You can only obtain same day tickets at the box office. Same day tickets are free of charge. If you want to get tickets for showings later in the weekend, you can purchase advance tickets here.
